If you can't tell me how to use a torrent how do you download a patch and not get any issues?

How do you use a torrent? When a torrent I downloaded gets to 100% it just connects or uploads but nothing else happens.
P.S. I use Bitlord.

For a demo find and download the demo a www.Blizzard.com/diablo2/ and find the the area where it says "demo" and choose a mirror and download the demo from that site. Have fun!
